Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) speaks at a press conference with Beverly's Pete Frates, an ALS patient and advocate, on Saturday, March 4th, 2017. The press conference focused on Moulton’s ALS Disability Insurance Access Act. The new legislation aims to provide healthcare support to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients quickly after they're diagnosed, bypassing the 5 month waiting period currently mandated by the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). "It's going to require people from both aisles to get it passed," said Moulton. "This is incredibly important for patients and families across the United States."
