Vernon West, center, who plays John the Witch Boy, along with several cast members of the Dark of the Moon, rehearse a scene at Peabody High School Thursday afternoon. Dark of the Moon is a dramatic stage play in the vein of Romeo and Juliet set in the Appalachian Mountains. The play centers around the character of John, a witch boy, played by Vernon West, who seeks to become human after falling in love with a human girl Barbara Allen, played Kiera Dancewicz.
