SWAMPSCOTT: Saturday's holiday festival in Swampscott will feature ice skating on the lawn in front of Town Hall on Monument Avenue. With the weather too warm for ice, the town has constructed a temporary synthetic ice skating rink to skate on. The platform shown here on Friday is without the plastic skating surface. Skating will be open on Saturday, Dec. 12, from noon to 9 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 10 to 4 p.m. The tree lighting will take place at 7 p.m.
