The driver of a charter bus loaded with Endicott College students on their way to the Topsfield Fair at about 6 p.m. evidently became confused at the Y-intersection of Locust Street and Valley Road (Route 35) in the northwestern corner of Danvers. The bus apparently grazed a utility pole, slid sideways and came to a rest with its front wheels in a ditch, completely blocking Locust Street. No one was injured and a replacement bus was sent to take the students the rest of the way to the fair. As of about 8 p.m., crews were still working to free the bus.
