Upset about littering
Photo by Ken Yuszkus Maggy Duffy explains the envirospace display to first graders. After Bates Elementary School students found styrofoam lunch trays outside the school along the parking lot and in general places where trash shouldn't be, they got upset about littering. After students started forming a program, Salem Sound Coastwatch has swung in to help them launch zero-waste lunches, or lunches that generate no non-compostable trash. 4/13/18
